Privacy Policy

The Short Version

We don't collect your data. We don't store your data on any server. We don't sell your data. Your contraction times, kick counts, due date, weight entries, birth plan preferences, and any other information you enter in the app stays on your device and nowhere else.

What Data the App Stores Locally

The following data is created and stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework (on-device database). We never have access to any of it:

  • Contraction records — start time, end time, duration, intensity rating, and optional notes for each contraction you track.
  • Baby kick counts — timestamps of fetal movements you record.
  • Due date information — your last menstrual period date and cycle length, used to calculate your estimated due date.
  • Weight entries — weight measurements you log for pregnancy tracking.
  • Birth plan preferences — selections you make in the birth plan builder.
  • Checklist progress — which items you've checked off in the hospital bag, trimester, partner, and postpartum checklists.
  • User preferences — settings like dark mode, haptic feedback, intensity tracking, and notification preferences.
  • Onboarding profile — optional due date, birth location, and first birth status you may provide during setup.

If you delete the app, all of this data is permanently deleted. There is no backup, no sync, and no cloud copy.

What Data We Collect

None. The Contraction Timer app does not collect personal data, health data, location data, or usage analytics. There are no user accounts, no login systems, and no cloud storage of your information.

Network Requests

The app makes the following network requests:

  • Audio track manifest — The app fetches a JSON file from our server (hypnobirthapp.com/appcnt/tracks.json) to load the list of available audio tracks. This request contains no personal data.
  • Audio streaming — When you play an audio track, the app streams the MP3 file from our server. No personal data is transmitted.
  • RevenueCat (subscription management) — The app uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat communicates with Apple's servers to verify purchase status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user ID (not linked to your identity) and purchase transaction data from Apple. We do not receive or store any payment card information. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
  • Apple Watch sync — If you use the Apple Watch companion app, contraction start/stop commands are sent between your watch and iPhone via Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This is a direct device-to-device communication over Bluetooth/Wi-Fi. No data leaves your devices.

What We Do NOT Do

  • We do not display advertisements of any kind.
  • We do not use analytics SDKs (no Firebase, no Amplitude, no Mixpanel).
  • We do not use tracking pixels or fingerprinting.
  • We do not share data with third parties for marketing purposes.
  • We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or location.
  • We do not create user profiles or behavioral models.

Photo Library Access

The app requests permission to save images to your photo library only when you choose to save a birth affirmation card or a contraction report. This permission is optional and used solely for saving the image you requested. We do not read or access your existing photos.

Notifications

The app may request permission to send local notifications to alert you when the 5-1-1 contraction pattern is detected. These notifications are generated locally on your device. They are not push notifications from a server.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies for tracking or analytics. No personal information is collected when you visit contractiontimer.io.

Children's Privacy

Our app and website are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update this page with the new date. Given that we collect no personal data, changes are unlikely.
